This experimental work from around 2001 was part of a Year of the Artist residency at LUTCHI, the HCI section of Loughborough University's Computer Science department. There are no plans to exhibit it unless a portable version can be constructed from the original idea.
The code was written in C++, calling OpenGL and using Inventor libraries on a Silicon Graphics Onyx running IRIX. We considered porting it to a PC or maybe OS X.
The EPROM infra-red sensors are actually quite simple - when a beam is broken (white lines in the middle image) a signal triggers the software to convert these simple signals into various complex moving 3D images.
